New Hope Christian School is the recipient of a community grant from the Cairo Community Foundation.  The school is working with Northwest High School to purchase a smart board for use in their class room.

Smart boards are replacing the overhead projector.  Smart boards are utilized to turn typical lessons into interactive lessons.  Smart boards are adaptive to learning styles.  If a child is a visual learner the lesson is on the board.  If the child is an interactive learner the board allows touch input.

Smart boards allow teaches to operate and display lesson directly on the board making lessons easier to navigate for student and teacher.  Smart boards enhance class rooms by allowing students to access resources that are located outside of the classroom.

The Cairo Community Foundation received and honored a grant request for $300 to purchase and install a smart board in New Hope School.  The foundation looks forward to seeing this smart board in action very soon.

Community grant deadlines are February 1st and August 1st.  If you have a project or idea please consider Cairo Community Foundation for funding.  Applications are available online or at the Village Office.
