A $6000 Go Big Give match gift is made in honor of Norm and Dylece Hadenfeldt. Joan Larson and Dick Hadenfeldt made the announcement at the April Cairo Community Foundation board meeting. The first $6000 in donations made to the Cairo Community Foundation during Go Big Give on May 6th are matched dollar for dollar by the gift.
Both Norm and Dylece graduated from Cairo High School, made Cairo their home, and farmed all their lives. Norm enjoyed playing and coaching baseball, singing in choir, and bowling. Dylece was an artist selling several paintings, an avid quilter, and a crocheter. Both served several community organizations and were long standing members at Christ Lutheran Church.
In 2009 Norm and Dylece were named King and Queen of Cairo during the Cornstalk Festival. Norm was a faithful fan of Centura Girls Basketball.
Norm and Dylece raised their family of five in Cairo, Dick and Jan Hadenfeldt of Dannebrog, Joan Larson of Cairo, Bobbi and Steve Larson of Dannebrog, Howard Hadenfedlt of Sonora, California, and Dianne and Jeff Berger of Surprise Arizona.
Joan stated, “My parents were always helping people. They were always doing things for others, from picking bees, to bringing food, and donating money.”
The Cairo Community is made of a great number of truly caring people. It is an honor to continue Norm and Dylece’s legacy of giving back by putting this gift to the Cairo Community Foundation to work for the Cairo Community.
Please consider giving to the Cairo Community Foundation during Go Big Give on May 6th.
